Press play on the explosive new single blending the best of African rhythms into an irresistible dance track.
Bien, the GRAMMY Award-winning sensation from Kenya, is making waves across the global music scene with his explosive new single ‘Wahala,’ featuring Nigerian Afrobeats legend Adekunle Gold and rising star ShineTTW, Apple Music Nigeria’s Up Next artist of the month. This powerhouse collaboration, produced by Remy Baggins, is poised to be the ultimate summer anthem, blending the best of African rhythms into an irresistible, dance-driven track.
‘Wahala,’ meaning trouble or drama, is a sonic celebration of African beauty and culture, merging Kenyan-inspired drum patterns with South African lock drum vibes and the infectious percussion of Nigerian music. The track is the centrepiece of Bien’s deluxe album, Alusa, Why Are You Topless?, a project that has already solidified his status as a major player in the Afrobeats genre.
Bien, known for his work as one-quarter of the globally acclaimed band Sauti Sol, brings his signature raspy vocals and captivating songwriting to the forefront. With over 500 million streams to his name and a solo debut album that has racked up over 70 million streams, Bien is no stranger to success. ‘Wahala’ is just one of five new tracks on the deluxe edition, which also features collaborations with other African superstars like Fally Ipupa and Rayvanny.
The collaboration between Bien and Adekunle Gold was effortless, with both artists expressing their excitement about working together. “Any time a King from the East meets a King from the West, it is Wahala,” Bien shared, while Adekunle Gold echoed the sentiment, calling the experience enjoyable and seamless.
With ‘Wahala,’ Bien is not just celebrating African sounds, he’s bringing them to the world. Out now, Bien is set to take the party global with a promo tour across the US and Europe this summer so stay tuned for more to come soon.
