At a sold out night at New York's Bowery Ballroom, Perfectly Imperfect and Grailed threw the best party of fashion week with the world's hottest new rappers.

Fakemink isn’t just breaking London, he’s breaking New York too. If you didn’t already know, the Essex-born rapper and torchbearer for this wave of underground music has been on a generational run, receiving co-signs from Frank Ocean and Timothée Chalamet, whilst sitting front row for brands like Kiko Kostadinov. Drake, Lil Yachty and Olaolu Slawn are just a few other superstars who’ve been spotted hanging around with the 20-year-old recently.

Currently touring the UK and America, last week, he stopped by in New York to perform a sold-out headline show at The Bowery Ballroom and had kids lining up around the block for his pop-up. He also linked with Nettspend to perform at Perfectly Imperfect and Grailed’s NYFW party on Saturday, uniting the city’s painfully cool fashion crowd for a sweat-soaked night of tomfoolery. And if you haven’t heard of Perfectly Imperfect, then where have you been? The social platform has put us on to many an underground artist through their quirky graphics and content.

The night was as boisterous as one could expect from a party brimming with the energy of two of the world’s fastest-rising stars. Before the event really kicked off, gig-goers (those in VIP, at least) could get a glowing portrait of themselves done by artists and writers Caroline Calloway and Sotce, as well as securing t-shirts printed with the rapper’s iconic phrase, “Today is my favourite day.” Producer OK also hopped on the decks to spin an eclectic mix of late-noughties and early-2010s club bangers.

The standout moment was surely when Nettspend stormed the stage to tease a new collaboration with the headliner, produced by Cranes. Overflowing with youthful vigour, the performance was a striking demonstration of the new generation taking over the industry: a demonstration which could be described as historic.
