Here's what went down at G-SHOCK's Built Different celebration in London's The Steel Yard, featuring a performance from Central Cee.

At the beginning of the year, Central Cee dropped his chart-topping album, Can’t Rush Greatness, so you can imagine the excitement when he made a surprise appearance at G-SHOCK’s Built Different celebration last Friday. At the Steel Yard in London, the brand’s European ambassador performed fan favourites ‘Sprinter’ and ‘BAND4BAND’, reminding everyone why he’s the current vanguard of UK rap.

“Last night was one to remember. As a devoted G-SHOCK fan and wearer, Central Cee perfectly embodies the brand’s spirit and hardworking values and having him turn up for a performance was incredible,” says Johny Erazo, Head of UK Marketing at G-SHOCK. “His album Can’t Rush Greatness is a testament to his creativity, resilience, and authenticity – something we’ve stood for since 1983, and what #BuiltDifferent is all about.”

In addition to Cench’s performance, a number of DJs brought the tunes to keep the party going. Dancehall representative Ella DHC and underground heavyweights Jeeniius and Aychibs were memorable highlights, fuelling a crowd eagerly anticipating the arrival of the night’s special guest. MV Killa, Theodora, and Frenna also graced the G-SHOCK stage with surprise performances of their own before Central Cee’s appearance.

The night wasn’t all party as social commentator Rambo held a panel to discuss G-SHOCK and its iconic watches, along with streetwear aficionado Fempy and Latya Bennet, founder of LatyaArt. The Made Watch collector and Time Drops joined them to discuss G-SHOCK and their memories of growing up with the brand in hand.
