London-based, British-Albanian musician Marsela shares the powerful ballad "Who Knows Where the Love Goes?"

For a debut single, “Who Knows Where The Love Goes?” by Marsela packs a punch.

With a uniquely synergised cocktail of soul and jazz and a range akin to Janis Joplins, Marsela is setting the bar high with her first release. Describing her sound as ‘dramtic/sad’, Marsela’s powerhouse vocals are very much as the forefront of her identity as an artist.

“Who Knows Where The Love Goes?” tells the tale of heartbreak and the pain of a diffiucult breakup; one that many will no doubt relate to.

The song is “inspired by the act of someone waking up one day and deciding they no longer want someone they’ve been building a life with, with no explanation,” Marsela explains. “It waltzes between feelings of hopelessness to actually pointing the finger, which is what we do when we’re left doing guesswork. I find it to be quite a terrifying prospect to have the rug swept from under your feet and so I wrote about it.”

“Who Knows Where The Love Goes?” isn’t the first cinematically told story that Marsela will be releasing. Her upcoming music explores themes of love, power, and grief. With her brave approach to songwriting, the emerging songstress is already proving what it means to be mentally empowered.  “I like to address issues that people don’t feel comfortable talking about out loud,” she says.
