Following the multiple Boiler Room events in London last week, 4:3 continues the celebration of lesbian culture with the fantastically bizarre video for the enticing track "2 become 1".
The 6-week online exhibition will feature work by global queer artists such as Victoria Sin, Rene Matric, Sade Mica, Kearra Amaya Gopee and Danielle Braithwaite-Shirley and will each be hosted on 4:3 for one week only.
To premiere the series, Victoria Sin releases ‘2 become 1’, a music video, as well as act 3, part 3 of a body of work titled ‘A View from Elsewhere’ as part of the exhibition. The piece is a multimedia fantasy on the experience of desire, shame and identification of the material queer body with a soundtrack by Shy One.
The video is an incredible and bizarre visual of two deep-sea angler fish mating – which inspired the soundtrack, a cover of Spice Girls ‘2 Become 1’ reimagined with a beat influenced by jazz, grime and dancehall (what else?)
