American filmmaker David Lowery is teaming up with A24 for a new rom-com starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel.

The rumours are true. A new popstar movie is on the horizon, featuring none other than illustrious actors Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel. Coined as an “epic pop melodrama” Mother Mary is a fanciful romantic drama made by American screenwriter and director David Lowery.

 

Touching base with long-time collaborator and independent company A24, together the pair are once again uniting for a new exciting project. Based on a fictional storyline of a famous singer (Anne Hathaway), hopelessly falling in love with her fashion designer (Michaela Coel), the movie is a candid rom-com that’s bound to catch you in your feels and features original music from Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff.

 

Recently sharing the news to their official Instagram page, A24 says: “Blessed reunion with David Lowery for his pop music epic MOTHER MARY starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel (+ original music by @charli_xcx @jackantonoff)”.
