Whether you want to workout with an old-school diva, pop icon or a country star, Apple Fitness+ are celebrating Women’s History Month with new Artist Spotlight workouts.
In celebration of women’s history month, Apple Fitness+ have released exclusive Artist Spotlight and Time to Walk episodes featuring the music of Miley Cyrus, Shania Twain and Mariah Carey. The first episodes were released on Monday March 6th in advance of International Women’s Day, with additional episodes every Monday throughout March.
Artist Spotlight dedicates an entire workout playlist to a single artist while a trainer guides you through exercises ranging from dance, HIIT, treadmill, strength and much more. These first episodes featured Miley’s music for a cycling class, Mariah for a yoga class, and Shania with a strength class.
All three women celebrate the importance of female empowerment across their music, bridging genres to appeal to a range of women whether they be fans of the ‘Queen of Country Pop’ Shania or the grittier rock music of Miley. Songs featured across the Mariah workouts include “Emotions”, “Honey”, “Butterfly” and “Fantasy”, all designed to celebrate the power of female independence and feminine energy, encouraging users to power through tough workouts with lyrics that motivate and boost confidence.
The nostalgic reference to “Party in the USA” sets the tone for Miley’s workout playlists which are intended to be upbeat, lively anthems to encourage resilience and living in the moment with more recent tracks like “Flowers” from the newly-released “Endless Summer Vacation”.
Perhaps the most fitting for women’s history month is Shania whose music spans decades, as the playlists features classics like “Man! I feel like a woman” in addition to her newly released “Waking up Dreaming”.
