The competition has the potential to kickstart the career of one lucky aspiring singer-songwriter.
Looking to get your foot into the music industry, but don’t know how to? Well Bang & Olufsen’s latest competition may be your way in. To mark the release of biopic movie Back to Black, the audio brand is partnering with STUDIOCANAL to give budding artists the chance to win a five-day residency at London’s iconic Metropolis Studios, where Amy Winehouse created her seminal Back to Black album.
Three finalists will be selected by a panel of industry experts to take the stage in London on 1st May in front of a live audience. The judging panel of Sam Taylor Johnson (Director of Back to Black), Stuart Hawkes (Mastering Engineer, Metropolis Studios) and a music industry expert will select one overall winner.
During the week-long Metropolis Studios residency, the winning artist will be supported by Hawkes, who worked on Winehouse’s album. As the week draws to a close the artist will walk away with two mastered tracks with the Metropolis production team on hand to assist with the recording and mixing processes.
Speaking about the competition, Zoe Baddeley, Head of Marketing & PR (UK & IE) at Bang Olufsen says: “Amy Winehouse remains one of the city’s most inspiring artists, and we’re delighted to be partnering with STUDIOCANAL to celebrate her story and uplift budding singer-songwriters.”
The three finalists will be selected by 23rd April to perform at the final event in London on 1st May. The winning artist will bask in the limelight having the opportunity to perform live alongside Winehouse’s original band on the night.
Singer-songwriters can enter here and will need to submit a short introduction to themselves and a video performance of one of their original pieces of music.
