Bimini Bon Boulash dazzles alongside Tayce for Richard Quinn’s neon-soaked, fetish-inspired film for AW21.
Having blossomed onto the fashion scene with his floral explosions and peal, latex feasts, Richard Quin decided to skip the digital seasons which emerged during the pandemic. Quinn was far from taking a break, however, making PPE for front-line workers, as well as constructing the fantastical fashion film that he has now shared.
Nearly 16 months later, the British designer explores a new role as film director for AW21. Starting on the streets of Soho, the collection is brought to life by an outstanding cast which includes Drag Race UK’s Bimini Bon Boulash and Tayce in black latex attire and structured evening looks, as well as models Lila Moss and Lily Cole.
Accompanying the starring names are a host of leather-wearing, whip-bearing cats, cowboys, and ballerinas, who roam through a surreal, neon fantasy, to a soundtrack of Sam Smith’s “I Feel Love” and Underworld’s “Born Slippy”. The film is a twisted celebration of technicolour florals and dark romance.
