For the final member of our all girl gang, we recruit the next generation of talent, the incredible Molly Rainford.
Molly Rainford might be a name you’re familiar with. At the age of 11, she was a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, hoping to make it in the world of music with her instantly recognisable vocals. Although she didn’t claim the top spot, her dreams of being an international star have still been realised. This year, she’s set her sights on dropping two EP’s, and has been in the studio working with esteemed producer Siba, who has previously worked with the likes of Charli XCX.
The truth is, Molly represents a rare type of musician. She cut her teeth on the stages of a reality TV show, journeying down a musical path that people often consider underserving, and a “shortcut”, but after spending the day with Molly, you quickly realise this couldn’t be further from the truth. Despite first gaining attention via BGT, she’s just as hard-working, dedicated and devoted to her craft as those that have found their musical paths in the “organic” sense. She might be young, but she’s got an adult head on her shoulders, and she’s very much in control of her own career. She’s an inspiration to young women hoping to break into the music industry, and she’s proof that the next generation deserve it.
As we wrap up this video series, we want to just remind you of the importance of championing women in music, whether that’s the artist, or the people behind the scenes. The industry still has a long way to go until we can achieve full equality between men and women’s roles. It’s time for change. #BalanceIsBetter
