Pop connoisseur Charli XCX is hosting her very own radio podcast, ‘Best Song Ever’.

Catch Charli XCX surfing the airwaves over at BBC Radio 1, as she hosts her first-ever podcast for the station, ‘Best Song Ever’.

For the show, the pop icon invites guests to pair tracks with various life moments, asking them to match a song with a situation: the perfect single to cry in the shower to? To peruse Paris to? To play at your own funeral? We’ll just have to listen and find out. The idea is to gather together a full soundtrack for each guest artist’s life.

So far, Charli XCX has entertained the likes of Addison Rae and launched her podcast with Christine and the Queens. 20 episodes have been commissioned, with Beabadobee, Mark Ronson, and Tove Lo still to look forward to.

Charli XCX has said: “The reason I wanted to do this podcast is because I love talking to people, and I love exploring the emotional connection any person can have with music. Songs that soundtrack specific moments in life can amplify and affect a moment drastically, and so I wanted to explore what those moments and songs are with some of my favourite creative people”.

“In every conversation I’ve had, I’ve learnt something brand new about each guest, and I feel like I’ve gotten to know each and everyone one of them a little bit more”, she adds.

‘Best Song Ever’ airs on Radio 1 on Mondays and all past episodes are available on BBC Sounds.
