Italian apparel brand Colmar release their new collection taking us from Spring to Summer, with reinterpreted classics, eco-friendly fabrics and breathable jackets.
Founded in 1923, longstanding Italian brand Colmar are no strangers to finding the perfect balance between form and functionality. Their latest Spring/Summer ’22 ‘New Optimistic World’ collection continues to evolve this legacy, whilst ‘observing the present and looking forward to tomorrow’. Defined by four themes that ensure the pieces are suitable for the variable weather these seasons may bring, the contemporary designs focus on sustainable fabrics and offer room for creative reinvention.
The first of the collection’s themes welcomes springtime, evoking lightness and freedom whilst ensuring the wearer is ready for warmer weather. The reinterpretation of historic Colmar pieces – the brand has a long history of functional sportswear – sees a broad selection of outerwear for men and women. For men: think short jackets, gilets and jacquard sweatshirts in fabrics with properties such as water-repellence, often made using sustainable processes. For women: nine pieces including short jackets, gilets and capes, as well as a belted trench coat and a biker jacket. Alongside these outwear offerings, the brand has created comfortable sweatshirts and trousers complete with the classic Colmar logo.
The second section of the collection sees Colmar Originals create eco-friendly apparel for all. Some fabrics are recycled; biodegradable; made using waste material during production processes; or even made using yarns created during the processing of plastic bottles. The result is an area of the collection that will allow you to shop without it weighing on your environmental conscience.
As the seasons move onwards, so does the collection – as the third area creates apparel for that time between the warm climes of summer and the necessary winter layers. Unlined jackets have been designed to be worn with sweatshirts, polo shirts and t-shirts, such as a bomber jacket for men and another short jacket for women. Colmar are reading to provide a full fit this Spring, as this section also includes hoodies and sweatshirts alongside soft pieces in a pure cotton fleeced fabric.
We’ve finally reached summer, and the New Optimistic World apparel can provide the pieces you need. As well as sweatshirts, t-shirts, and fleeces for men and women, this section brings swimwear to the table. Details such as piping in Italian flag colours and contrasting edges demonstrate how Colmar have earned their trusted reputation, whilst ever-evolving with new designs. Described as being inspired by technology, art, communication, style, materials and thought: it is evident just how much consideration has gone into producing this fashionable and functional collection.
