Irish rappers Rex Arcum and Syano fight back with their defiant new EP ‘COMPOUND’, mirroring the spirit of their live shows.

“Rap is the new rock and roll. We the rockstars” shouted Kanye in his now notorious interview with Zane Lowe. But, why can’t an artist be both? That’s the very question Rex Arcum and Syano are answering on their joint EP, ‘COMPOUND’. Filled with hefty 808s and each artists’ effervescent energy, the project has established them as rising stars ready for what’s about to come.

Lead single “LOTTO BOY” utilises searing strings, gritty drums and the pair’s natural music prowess. Vocally, they are on form, matching each other’s flows and dexterous deliveries. It’s a release that will surely propel Rex and Syano to the forefront of Ireland’s budding music scene.

‘COMPOUND’ revels in a genre-bending spirit. Over four tracks, the wordsmiths go toe for toe, igniting a ferocity that will bring spirit and vigour to their live shows. Having sold out Fred Zeppelin’s Cork earlier this year, Rex Arcum will be touring Ireland in September, playing dates in Galway, Limerick, Dublin and Cork.
