Dutch/African clothing brand, Daily Paper, features all things animal print, silver jacquard, and spiritual artwork for their AW21 2021 collection.
Daily Paper is in no way shying away from embracing bold and powerful all over prints for its latest collection, titled ‘Ancestral Anarchy’. As it has come accustom with the Amsterdam-based brand, a focus on community is emphasised once again. Drawing inspiration from the social philosophy of African Anarchism, Daily Paper plants sartorial motifs of animal print, silver jacquard and spiritual artwork across the collection.
Classic puffers receive a colourful revamp, while bomber silhouettes are seen in new oversized and fitted iterations with bright orange linings. With jacquard fabric also covering a large portion of the new pieces, matching sets, mirrored ensembles, and indigenous elements further shows the collections focus to ancestry, amplifying the label’s community-oriented ethos.
It’s impossible to talk about this collection without a mention of the bright print pieces. Yellow cheetah garments covered with white spray paint reading the brand’s name command a range of wide-legged trousers and draping parkas. Elsewhere, neon shades and spiritual printings take over figure-shaping unitards and dresses.
The bold prints, clean cuts and elevated streetwear give a taste of African power dressing for the future.
The collection will be available to shop on Daily Paper’s webstore at the end of the summer.
