“Danger” by Terri

Terri is an artist who refuses to rest on his laurels. The Afrobeats star has built his career on hard work both in his solo endeavours and his canny choices of collaborations. He has worked with Nigerian superstar Wizkid since the beginning of his career, and their partnership has been so successful that it earned a first Grammy nomination for Terri for his contributions to Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition’ album.

 

His solo work, launched with the acclaimed EP ‘Afro Series’ in 2020, has been equally fruitful, with Terri having spent the last year parlaying his success into writing a trove of fresh new material to launch this year. Now, he’s finally ready to show us what he’s been working on.

 

The new single “Danger” announces a new era for Terri marked by a new EP coming on April 22. It’s a tender and smooth tune which expresses the vulnerabilities of young love in bilingual style, with Terri singing in both English and Yoruba, and it’s accompanied by a music video which revels in the intimacy of telling someone how you really feel and enjoying the special connection that comes from that.

 

On the song, Terri says, “I recorded ‘Danger’ in my second session with the amazing producer Krizbeatz. It was a rainy day and when he played this beat for me, all I could think about was those beautiful moments with a girl I fell in love once before. Sonically, ‘Danger’ highlights a different side to my artistry. It embodies my next EP ‘In Transit’, and it reflects my growth and how I’m evolving – I just want everyone to feel and enjoy this song because it means everything to me that they do”.
