Bella Schmurda takes 'Do Not Disturb' mode to the next level with his latest EP, ‘DND’, out now.

It’s the beginning of a new musical venture for Bella Schmurda, the afrobeats artists and president of record label Dangbana Republik. He’s on ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode for the rest of 2023, staying in his own lane and focusing on the music. Following on from his acclaimed debut album, ‘Hypertension’ just last year, he returns with new EP ‘DND’ and a handful of exciting new collaborations.

Opening up the six-track offering, Schmurda links with long-time collaborator LarryLanes on “In Charge” and “Ara”. The ‘Queen of Afrobeats’ Tiwa Savage and Krizbeats lend their musical prowess to “NSV”. Lil Kesh, Pheelz, and Olamide, who Schmurda affectionately credits as ‘one of the industry’s greatest songwriters’ , team up with the musician for the final three tracks.

Originally written to keep fans satisfied until his forthcoming album, it wasn’t long until the project took a life of its own. Speaking on the meaning behind his ‘Do Not Disturb’ agenda, the afrobeats artist explains, “There’s a lot of good music out there, but I don’t want to be carried away by different trends and different new sounds. Everywhere is saturated, but in the midst of that, I want to remain tuned into my own vibrations.” He continues, “I’m just in that ‘do not disturb’ mood right now, where I want to get myself together, without too many external influences. Self-control is important for my approach to music, so trying to be in my own headspace is key”.
