Editorial: Yesterday’s Soirée

Photo duo Kylie Govinchuck and David Ardill worked together to create a vintage-inspired shoot that explored and reinvented the past.

Kylie explained: “The concept for the shoot was formed when I found a vintage image of a woman at a pool party. The photo captured the feeling of the party with a greater story that the woman existed within. Conceptualizing a shoot that captured the same feeling is what led to the creation of “Yesterday’s Soiree.”

David and I knew we wanted a vintage look but didn’t want it to feel costumey. The inspiration for the shoot was capturing the feeling of a soiree with a mix of fun, gossip and overall sophistication. The shoot came together to create a story from another time with a touch today.”
