Bottomless Gospel Brunch @ Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace has announced the next date of its iconic LIVE Gospel Brunch, set to return on the 29th of May. Housed in its iconic 17th Century Grade II listed building in London Bridge, the ex-church now music venue will provide its own six-piece live gospel choir playing an array of Motown, Soul and Disco classics to get you through the day. With tickets from £10 (with a bottomless option for £25), alongside a selection of tasty brunch specials from Southeast-Asian eatery De Ja, it’s safe to say nowhere is doing brunch quite like Amazing Grace.

Sink Some Pints with Brew LDN @ Printworks

Brew//LDN 2022 is a beer festival set to return to Printworks in London on the 6th and 7th of May. Giving a platform to the industry’s innovations in independent brewing, cider production, spirits, snack stands and street food, the event is set to welcome 12,000 members of the public. Tickets include admittance, a festival glass, a Brew//LDN magazine and access to over 150 drinks exhibitors. Find them here.

Get Arty with Upfest Graffiti Festival in Bristol

Europe’s largest street art festival is hitting Bristol, with street painting across the city between the 5th – 25th of May, followed by the main festival taking over Greville Smyth Park from 28th to 29th of May. The event sponsored by Posca will feature over 300 artists painting live alongside music stages and food and drink experiences. Find more info here.

Eid Festival in Trafalgar Square

On the 17th of May, Trafalgar Square will be the venue to celebrate the end of Ramadan, with a massive Eid festival. This celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, which marks the end of fasting for Ramadan, will take over Trafalgar Square for a family-friendly day of activities and events. The Main Stage will be hosted by Mistah Islah alongside Mehreen Baig, as well as the event hosting food and market stalls alike. The event is free and will be running from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. 

Notion Stage at The Great Escape 2022

The Great Escape festival in Brighton is happening from the 11th-14th of May. Taking place at the iconic The Arch venue, home of underground music in Brighton for seven years, the Notion Stage will be playing from Thursday to Saturday during the festival.

There’s set to be a truly massive amount to discover at the Great Escape Festival this year, with a mammoth line-up of over 500 artists to enjoy across some of Brighton’s best music venues, and the Notion Stage is set to be at its heart. The Great Escape takes place in Brighton from 11th-14th May, and tickets are still on sale here.

TED Talks’ First Soho event 

On the 30th of May, TED will host its first-ever event in Soho. The event plays host sixteen remarkable speakers, artists, poets, intellectuals, and directors including Tom Odell and Michael Sheen. Taking place in the Cambridge Theatre currently housing Matilda, Ted x Soho is one not to be missed. Tickets available here.

Listen Up at The Podcast Show 2022 

On the 25th-26th of May, The Business Design Centre in Islington is set to host a festival marking Europe’s biggest gathering of the global podcasting community. Welcoming independent podcast creators to established industry professionals alike, there will be over 350 speakers sharing their wisdom on the podcasting world. The current lineup includes the likes of Munroe Bergdorf, Louis Theroux, Fearne Cotton and Gary Lineker. Find more information and buy tickets here.

South London’s Wide Awake Festival

Taking place on the last weekend in May, from Friday 27th-May 28th, in Brockwell Park, Wide Awake is an independent festival for people looking for something different. Awarded NME’s Best Small Festival Winner last year, they have expanded into a two-day event, with a lineup that embraces leftfield Indie, Post Punk, Electronica, Techno, Jazz and more. Watch Empowering Drama Casablanca Beats

Catch this uplifting new movie about hip-hop, youth, religion, politics and sexuality. Directed by Nabil Ayouch (Horses of God, Much Loved), Moroccan film Casablanca Beats was part of the Official Selection at the 2021 edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
