In an unlikely culinary pairing, FILA pays tribute to iconic New York City Pizzerias in their latest footwear collection.

Paying tribute to NYC’s Pizzerias, and more specifically the city’s five boroughs, FILA’s new sneaker drop draws on unusual inspirations.

Restaurants Rubirosa Ristorante, Roberta’s, sLICe Astoria, Louie & Ernie’s, and Lee’s Tavern worked with the sportswear brand for designs that reflect the vibe of each of the restaurants. The designs are all in custom colourways, as well as each having a city map on the back of the tongue and presented in a shoe box that looks like a pizza box.

Each of the collection’s designs hold unique and meaningful design elements. The FILA Renno x Rubirosa Ristorante is in honour the family-run Manhattan pizza shop on Mulberry Street. The FILA Original Fitness Ripple x Roberta’s (Brooklyn) features an all over print of the restaurant’s logo in red, whilst the the FILA Renno x sLICe was designed in macadamia, orange and black to match the signature colours of the Queens-based pizzeria.

The FILA Renno x Louie & Ernie’s is in a traditional Italian colorway of white, red, and green, reflecting the Bronx pizzeria has running since 1959. The FILA F-13 x Lee’s Tavern has “What the world needs is pizza and quiet,” a phrase commonly said by the owner, on the back heel.

FILA’s Famous NY Style Pizza Collection will be available exclusively on FootLocker.com and some physical locations from 26th of July.
