Afropop icons Phyno and Tekno team up for new summer banger, “Full Current (That’s My Baby)”.

Award-winning Nigerian artist, songwriter and producer Phyno is joined by Afropop royalty Tekno for their new collaborative track “Full Current”. The release comes less than a year after the release of Phyno’s critically acclaimed album ‘Something To Live For’, and Tekno’s latest single “Buga”.

Phyno is celebrating a decade at the top of Nigerian music this year, an artist respected as one of the pioneers of indigenous music in Africa. With four albums under his belt, many awards and sold-out international tours, he even holds a record for headlining the biggest-selling concert series in Nigeria, PhynoFest.

The pair have massive streaming potential across their dedicated fanbases. Phyno’s latest album has amassed over 30 million streams thus far, and Tekno’s latest single ‘Buga’ with Kizz Daniel is fast becoming one of the biggest afrobeats songs of 2022, with over 100 million plays online. This new release is produced by Yung Willis, and brings together elements of afrorap and afrobeats to celebrate women.

About the track, Phyno explains: “the song was inspired by the need for us to treat women as the Queens that they are, and for us to hold our women in the highest esteem. The track is about the extent I will go to treat my woman like a Queen and also how much I’ll spoil her with the best things in life.”
