Gabriel Moses offers a glimpse into his personal memory box in his debut photo book, Regina, featuring Samuel Ross, Skepta and Slawn.

25-year-old photographer and creative director Gabriel Moses is proving to be an unstoppable force. This week, the London-based artist has emerged with his first photobook, Regina, which showcases the sheer ingenuity, beauty and impact of his young self-made career. Now available to pre-order, the alluring project arrives hot on the heels of a collaboration with Travis Scott – Gabriel directed the dizzying music video for ‘FE!N’, which dropped last week.

Regina is a testament to Gabriel’s multifaceted talent and the sprawling influences that shape his vision. Named after the Latin word for Queen – the same name of his debut exhibit at London’s 180 Strand last year – the book pays homage to the women who have played pivotal roles in his life, from his grandmother to his nieces. It’s a visually alluring celebration of femininity, love, and gratitude, shared over 230 full-page reproductions that span his extensive career.

Gabriel’s distinctive style, characterised by vibrant, otherwordly imagery and narrative-driven storytelling, is on full display. Amongst the spectacular photographs of cultural icons like Pharrell Williams and Skepta are intimate moments captured with handwritten notes from his mother and texts inspired by his appreciation for her.

Offering a glimpse into the photographer’s personal memory box, screen grabs of Spotify songs and Instagram messages, as well as drawings by friends like the artist Olaolu Slawn also adorn the pages. Contributions also come from esteemed figures like Federico Sargentone, Nick Knight and Samuel Ross. Every detail contributes to his growing demand from fashion’s elite: Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Chanel, to name a few brands he’s worked with.

Whilst Gabriel’s rapid rise in the fashion and art world is now presented in glossy glory, what comes across most poignantly is the creative maverick’s commitment to his community. Firmly established as one of the industry’s most promising talents, his world-building offers fresh perspectives, which are translated into a timeless project such as Regina.

Regina by Gabriel Moses is published by Prestel and available to pre-order here.
