In Notion’s upcoming 76th issue we get to know GCDJ, a DJ duo based between London and Brighton who have discovered it takes more than determination to get ahead in the industry.
If you want to pack out your party or fill the dancefloor, there’s one DJ duo you call on to guarantee your mates are dancing ‘til the small hours. Armed with more club bangers than a party boat in Ibiza, catch them playing residencies all over in London and Brighton’s most referred venues. Having grown up on old school soul and funk, the duo’s mix of R&B, hip hop and garage classics alongside the cream of contemporary favourites have won them a strong following from industry heads and partygoers alike.
In the summer issue of Notion Magazine we meet Girls Can’t DJ [GCDJ] to find out how they turned their passion for DJing into a fulltime project, and discover it takes more than a little determination to get ahead in the industry. As we see in this short film directed by Milly Grange-Bennett, the duo’s dedication to training has not only changed their approach to their craft but helped them navigate the industry in a more positive way.
