Cinematic composer Olovson, releases a string version of his single "Gyroscope", performed by the Stockholm Studio Orchestra.

Composer Olovson – real name Jacob Ollofson – is set to release a string version of his single “Gyroscope” on the 12th of August via his imprint 1136 Diamond. The rerelease follows the composer’s recent LP ‘Storytelling’, his first full-length project under his new name. Alongside the LP, the composer released an official book featuring original sheet music, photographs and stills from the video illustrations.

“Gyroscope (String Version)” shimmers with Olovson’s signature smooth production style, yet the reimagined use of the strings heightens the orchestral and cinematic aspects of the track. The original video for “Gyroscope”, created by illustrator and animator Gabriel Böhmer, was included in the official selections for the London International Film Festival.

Speaking of this latest release, Olovson tells us: “Here come five variations of some songs from ‘Storytelling’ for String Sextet. As I was writing the album on the piano, I always heard the songs being performed on strings.”

Born and raised in Stockholm Sweden, Olovson splits his time between Los Angeles and his hometown. Before the release of his LP, Olovson was involved in Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling production duo Jarami. The composer also collaborated with industry heavyweights such as Frank Ocean, Mark Ronson and Diplo.
