Equipped with just his guitar and vocals, James Smith calls upon the fight for love in his new track, "Hailey"

James Smith is a man that needs no introduction. Equipped with just his guitar and his raspy vocals, he’s obtained a massive fan following of people keen to soak up his acoustic musings. Born and raised in East London but now residing in Essex, he’s always been dedicated to the arts, originally training as an actor before dedicating his time to music. He’s had a pretty impressive trajectory so far, which includes his successful singles “T-Shirts” and “Tell Me That You Love Me”.

For his latest release, “Hailey”, he wrote about someone he knew. “It’s about someone who was scared to show any emotion and open up to others. They’d done so before and ended up getting hurt,” he explains.  “I knew I had to write this song, although the lyrics might seem simple, there’s a lot of meaning and realness about them. I find it fascinating that as human beings: we instinctively fight to survive. This seems to translate in love too. Hailey is someone who fights to keep her heart intact, pushing away her opportunities to be happy. Sometimes it’s worth taking the chance on someone.” Rhythmic and catchy with a stripped-back yet powerful emotive vocal, we’re certain “Hailey” will be jumping to the top of his Popular Tracks section.

James will be playing a headline show at Omeara on June 20th. Sign up for pre-sale tickets here.
