Fresh off the English reimagination of their debut album, The Other Side Of Hope, Mola Oddity returns to the spotlight with a dynamic music video for the single, ‘Half A Sadday Saving Time’. The stunning visuals are a collaboration between French director Laurent Nathan Grey and Japanese artist Baku Hashimoto.
Produced by Alex Zabava, the track showcases the band’s distinctive artistry. Mola Oddity, comprised of Birdy K, Yider, and Asr, transform the quirks of existence into vibrant alt-pop anthems. Opening with a jazz-inspired piano line, ‘Half A Sadday Saving Time’ effortlessly blends alluring pop sentiment with vibrant instrumentation. The track’s rich tapestry features guitars, synths, and catchy melodies, inviting listeners to dance with its infectious percussion.
Birdy K describes the video as a whimsical exploration of life’s absurdities, likening the character design to a satirical warrior reminiscent of Don Quixote. “Flowers that haven’t bloomed transform into rebellious pimples, representing life’s little annoyances that can unexpectedly blossom into beauty,” he explains.
With their creative process rooted in arrangement and driven by impactful moments from daily life, the work of Mola Oddity embodies a yearning for hope amidst chaos. As they gear up for an exciting 2025, Mola Oddity continues to enchant audiences across Asia and beyond, crafting a unique narrative filled with rhythm and resilience.
