Toronto one-to-watch, Patrik Kabongo, drops 'High End Pack', featuring stand-out single “98 degrees”.
After an already busy year following on from the release of singles “Pictures” and “Repentance”, Canadian rapper and songwriter, Patrik Kabongo unveils his high-tempo eight-track project ‘High End Pack’, showcasing his sonic and artistic ability.
The project is impressive for both its scope and its content. As well as including the main soundtrack to TikTok Canada’s #ItStartsWithTikTok nationwide campaign – singles “High End” and “High End (120 Remix)” – the project boasts five new records, accompanying videos, and a limited capsule auction available through NFTs.
Turning up the heat with his catchy single “98 degrees”, Kabongo veers away from bubbly, tropical-themed summer sounds and instead stays true to his signature vibe, curating a hip hop gem that is both moody and sophisticated. Speaking on the track, Kabongo explains: ‘I wanted to create a high tempo song for the summer. Something that would have the blended energy of heavy trap bass and Lil Mama’s “Lip Gloss”.’
Having gained recognition from BBC Radio 2, Complex Canada, Hot New Hip-Hop, Earmilk, Elevator, Sirius XM Canada and more, Patrik Kabongo has also received sponsorship from G-Star Raw, collaborated with New Era Canada on the New Ear Sessions and was the winner of Indie 88’s Jim Bean Make History Talent Showcase. Clearly, this one-to-watch has already made his mark on the industry and is bringing his 2021 journey to a momentous milestone with ‘High End Pack’.
