Matt Simons is back with new album, 'Identity Crisis', navigating multifarious influences and the rollercoaster of personal relationships.

Recently returning from the US leg of a tour with 2Cellos, LA-based Matt Simons has built a dedicated fanbase over the course of his three albums. Back with a fourth, ‘Identity Crisis’ includes hit singles like “Better Tomorrow”, “Cold” and “Identity Crisis”, which have already amassed a combined 50 million streams.

California born and raised, Simons’ musical journey began at a young age. Spending his early life studying jazz and classical, the evolution to his current melodic pop involved his picking up of a variety of instruments – including clarinet, guitar and piano. He starting out with self-promo online, but to his surprise it was the Netherlands where his music first struck a chord. He built a European fanbase, and since then his career has gone from strength to strength. After hitting a billion streams, there’s no looking back.

Speaking on his latest album, Simon’s offers: “I’m often asked to describe my music in 3 words or less. The answer I like to give is ‘an identity crisis’.  This album reflects the wide range of styles I love and am heavily influenced by.” This sentiment translates in the listening, as well as the vulnerability of his lyrical exploration of personal relationships. About to embark on the European leg of his support tour, Simons is due to hit arena venues including Paris, Berlin and SSE Wembley London. We’re sure he’ll be picking up many more fans on the way.
