It’s been confirmed: Jordan Peele is in the process of making a brand new film, which is set to release on Christmas Day, 2024.

Universal Pictures teased fans of the acclaimed filmmaker with a new addition to their release calendar, Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele. It’s set to land on the 25th of December 2024, at least in the US. And, as of right now, details about the plot, cast, and genre, haven’t yet been released. In the past, Jordan has kept information about his upcoming projects under wraps, in turn generating even more buzz for his widely-celebrated works. But if his track record is anything to go by, its success is imminent.

The elusive flick will be released just four days after two major high-budget movies, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Avatar 3 – of which the latter has comfortably slid into the position of the sixth highest-grossing movie of all time. Despite its fierce competition, the artistry of, and earnings from Jordan’s previous projects mean his next project is almost written as a cinema sell-out.

Jordan released his debut film Get Out in 2017, which was met with critical acclaim – picking up a monumental four Academy Awards, and grossing $255 million against its humble $4.5 million budget. The breakout psychological thriller struck a chord with comedy and horror fans alike, merging often unsettling satire with a chilling story of racial exploitation. His following two movies, Us and Nope, released in 2019 and 2022 respectively, followed in his debut’s footsteps as major box office hits.

Alongside his own films, Jordan has worked on a number of modern-day classics through his own production house, Monkeypaw Productions, set up in 2012. Notably, he produced Spike Lee’s Blackkklansman in 2018, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes, as well as co-writing and producing the supernatural slasher Candyman (2021).

The fourth iteration of Jordan’s mastery hits theatres on Wednesday, 25th of December 2024. While we’re clueless as to how the plot will unfold, if his previous focuses on alien invasions and doppelgängers are anything to go by, it’s well on track to being a positively thrilling watch.
