Working with Hoxton Hall as part of Dr. Martens’ Tough As You initiative, Kojey Radical is supporting their Beat Bank launch to help young artists develop their studio skills.

Hoxton Hall’s Beat Bank drive is a project designed to provide Hackney’s young musicians with more samples, beats and instrumentals to produce, remix and rework in the studio. Born and bred in Hackney, rapper Kojey Radical has got involved with the project as part of the Dr. Martens Tough As You initiative – a mentorship programme that pairs established artists with emerging voices in music.

Hoxton Hall was selected as the artist’s first mentee. With Dr. Martens’ support there has been an elevation of the Hall’s critical artist development programme, as well as the initiative providing new equipment and audio kit for the venue’s on-site studio, alongside funding to help meet the demand for studio time with producer, Aston Rudi. Taking on a mentorship role, Kojey has offered in-person songwriting workshops alongside studio advice, using his own experience in the music industry to help rising London talent.

The emerging musicians will be showcasing their work at the venue’s annual Sound Out event on 31st March, and artists with unused material can support the initiative by emailing stems to [email protected]. Find more information on the initiative here
