The brand head to the hills as inspiration for their AW19 collection.

When it comes to revamping sportswear, there’s no one that does it quite as well as Istanbul-based brand, Les Benjamins. For this AW19 collection, the brand are heading for the hills with new designs that draw inspiration from Machu Pichu and the Sacred Valley in Peru.

With clear nods towards hiking and exploration seen throughout the collection, the fresh cuts and silhouettes take direct inspiration from the Machu Pichu’s distinctive architecture. The result more structured, uniform looks and mixed media fabrics, a departure from the typical sportswear cuts that had been commonplace each season.

The AW19 offering is the brainchild of the brand’s founder, Benjamin Aydin, as he continues his creative exploration in the worlds of photography and art. He’s called upon his artistic knowledge to source prints and pictograms that perfectly showcase a travellers lifestyle. It’s quite a curveball for the brand, but there’s still some key streetwear elements throughout, manifesting in structured hoodies and tracksuits. Despite the sportswear shift, the collection proves that Aydin knows exactly what he’s doing.
