Black Panther star Letitia Wright has hinted this week that the next film installment may already be in the works.

It’s hard to believe that Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released almost three months ago. Still dominating cinemas, in December 2022 Wakanda Forever was ranked as the number-one movie in the world for five weeks in a row. Following a string of award nominations, one of the film’s stars, Letitia Wright, has shared in a recent interview that the third instalment could be coming in the near future.

Discussing the movie with Variety, Letitia says: “I think it’s already in the works”. She adds: “I always try to do positive words and positive thinking, and I believe that good words manifest, so I’m manifesting a Black Panther three, why not?”.

Between the sheer global success of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever surpassing everyone’s expectations, and the finale implying further character development for Namor, it begs the question of whether this franchise could well be extended into, or beyond, a trilogy.

If you haven’t caught the film in cinemas, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to be released on Disney+ on Wednesday 1st February.
