Lisa Mercedez cranks up the heat in the new video for latest single No Disturbance.

Lisa Mercedez’s summer is heating up. As we get stuck into season properly the London-based, Jamaican-born dancehall MC looks to be well on the way to becoming the city’s new breakout star. Fresh from a run of collaborations with the likes of Stylo G, Ms Banks and Stefflon Don today she premieres the music video for her most summer-ready single yet, ‘No Disturbance’.

A loved-up track, the lyrics deal pretty frankly with getting some time alone with your partner, which is pretty much in keeping with Mercedez’ lyricism to date (choice innuendos include ‘connect your wifi to my modem’). What’s unusual about ‘No Disturbance’ however, is that Mercedez doesn’t rap a bar on the whole track. Instead of coming through with her usual matter-of-fact flow, Mercedez sings on ‘No Disturbance’. Her ever-so-slightly autotuned vocals lend the track an extra breeziness designed for these warmer months, a mood reflected in the video which premieres on Notion today.

Speaking about the track Lisa Mercedez said: “‘No Disturbance’ is about those needed times with your partner away from people phones and distractions. It has a slightly sexy vibe but nice and bouncy for the summer, I don’t think anyone has heard me sing before so I put a little extra into this one!” Watch the video premiere for ‘No Disturbance’ below.
