Independent trans artist, Marxoxo, reveals hyper pop extravaganza in the form of her EP ‘ID:ME’, leading with addictive new single “Euphoria”.

Pulling inspiration from her personal drama, diary entries and dreams, Marxoxo is the brat-pop project of independent Filipina artist Mar that is reminiscent of both Charli XCX and Britney’s early era. More than this, it’s been a way for Mar to reconcile her identities, having grown up in a sleepy town and proudly growing into the woman she is today.

Following the release of her debut album ‘Velvet’ back in 2017, Marxoxo has completely reinvented her sound venturing into a more modern and accessible sonic sphere. As an avid advocate in LGBTQA+ communities, Marxoxo has been instrumental in creating space in her local scene by putting on nights at Club XOXO.

Exploding on the scene in 2022 with singles from her EP ‘ID:Me’, the five-track project functions as an ode to the self and perfectly encapsulates Marxoxo’s fun-loving nature. Inspired by the UK Garage classic “Flowers” by Sweet Female Attitude, the lead single from the EP “Euphoria” is bound to capture your attention. Alongside the track comes stunning visuals that invite us into Marxoxo’s spellbinding world.

Speaking on the video, Marxoxo says: ‘I created a literal fantasy world with myself as Sleeping Beauty complete with dress changes and a fairy godmother! It’s a royal metaphor for self-actualizing and manifesting your dreams. It features Pastel Kei as the fairy god, Moistbreezy as the sleeping bestie, styling by Louis Quantrille, editing by Mar Cantos, and shot by Nat Souza.’

With spots on iconic playlists such as OnesToWatch’s “Now Watching” and Grindr’s New Music Fridays, as well performances on Charli XCX’s “Charli” live tour and Sacramento Pride, Marxoxo is an artist that is steadily climbing towards her pop princess dreams.
