Micky James is letting go of the past on his new indie-rock release “New York Minute”, out now via BMG.

Rising star Micky James has returned with an earnest new release titled “New York Minute”. Back two years after his last project, Micky opens up about self-growth and being shaped by the city on the new track.

Making a name for himself as an exciting new indie-rock artist to back, throughout the years the Mikey has collaborated with a handful of artists, previously supported acts such as The Struts, The Regrettes and Cherry Pools, and played festivals including Pleasantville and Firefly Music Festival.

Speaking about his new single, Micky says: ““New York Minute” took on a few different life forms, sonically and conceptually. I started writing it in 2020 during the pandemic. Originally the song was written as a love letter to New York City – a city that I grew up in and a city that has created so many memories for me as a young adult. But I wanted the meaning to feel more open-ended so it applied to everyone. The song is about letting go of the past and learning from those lessons to create new beginnings in life”.
