Rising songwriter and artist, Michael Blackwell, shares grunge-tinged debut single “Nothing Makes Sense” with a wistful music video.

Ready to make an impact in the indie-rock scene, up-and-coming musician and singer-songwriter Michael Blackwell has dropped an anthemic single “Nothing Makes Sense”. Shared as the artist’s debut release, this track features a buoyant guitar-led hook and is accompanied by a dreamy music video with distorted visuals.

A talented guitarist and songwriter, for Michael, rock music has always been an influence. Inspired by the work of Led Zeppelin, The Police, Radiohead, and Soundgarden, (amongst many others), the artist is keen to usher his eclectic taste into his music and has throughout his latest curated an alternative, indie-rock sound drenched in grunge sensibilities. Previously touring with the likes of Lewis Capaldi and Amber Run, it’s fair to say the artist is no stranger to the music industry. Confidently stepping into 2023 with his own sound, “Nothing Makes Sense” is a melodic offering mixed by John Catlin (Inhaler, The Killers), and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, Liam Gallagher).

Speaking about his new single, Micahel says: ““Nothing Makes Sense” is a song about the struggles of understanding everyday life. It is easy to feel pressure from social media, confusion from your news feed and uncertainty over each decision you have to make, even with the most optimistic mindset self-doubt can be unavoidable. I know my shortcomings, my strengths and weaknesses and I have realised all I can do is try my best even if the world around me seems chaotic”.
