Grammy award-winning artist and general empowerment icon Lizzo has launched her own size-inclusive shapewear brand this week.

Joining the ranks of celebrities like Kim Kardashian in the release of a new shapewear line, Lizzo’s new ‘YITTY’ brand promises something different. With the tagline ‘Shapewear Reinvented’, the star’s debut collection promises intimates from XS to 6X, that will certainly will be worthy of outdoor wear. We’d expect nothing less that a commitment to inclusivity from the ‘Truth Hurts’ singer, and it looks like fans won’t be disappointed.

YITTY’s new styles also boast super-soft recycled fibers, and will arrive in the brand’s sustainable packaging, which is made with 100% recycled materials.

In a press release, Lizzo described the motivations behind YITTY’s conception: “I felt that I was constantly being told through TV and magazines that my body wasn’t good enough. And, in order to be considered ‘acceptable’ I had to inflict some sort of pain upon it to fit into an archetype of beauty. Because of this, I’ve been wearing shapewear for a long time, maybe since I was in fifth or sixth grade. Instead of thinking about size in this linear way, we’re thinking about it on a spectrum where everyone is included. Everyone’s size is just their size. It’s not high, it’s not low. It’s not big, it’s not small. It’s just your size.”

Lizzo’s asking us if we’re ready for the YITTY LIBERATION, and honestly, we can’t wait. The brand launches 12th April and will be available on its online store. Select YITTY styles will also be available in Fabletics retail stores and website.
