Ethereal songstress Megan Dixon Hood enchants listeners with her newest offering, “Martyr”.

Megan Dixon Hood has just released the final piece of her highly-anticipated debut album, “East of the Sun”. Inspired by all from folklore to nature, track “Martyr” captures Megan’s angelic yet assertive vocals that sit atop electronic textures. She builds up from moments of calm into powerful crescendos that reflect the single’s melancholic lyrics.

“Martyr” precedes Megan’s upcoming tour, which starts on May 4th in Stoke. She’s playing at ten different venues throughout England, including Manchester and London. This will be her second time touring independently, following her debut in 2020 just before the pandemic struck.

The past two years were spent by the artist recording and readying her music for the stage. With a sound that connects with fans of Florence & The Machine and AURORA alike, her ‘forest pop style’ is ready to resonate with an in-person audience.

Speaking on her alternative new release, Megan explains, “Martyr is the final track on the album, inspired by history, and highlights the importance of our voices, of not being afraid to stand up for what we believe in and that when we come together we can change the world for the better.”
