East London rapper Tarm is self-assured and setting himself up for musical success in his new single 'Mazzine'.
Hot off the heels of ‘Levels’, which dropped with a video mid-January, UK rap talisman Tarm is back with a confident new single ‘Mazzine’, out today. Meaning ‘extraordinary’, the track’s title encapsulates a musical narrative which sees the Hackney-raised artist reflect on and celebrate how far he has come.
Steadily releasing singles since 2017, Tarm has been honing his craft whilst finding his niche within a saturated scene. The focused approach paid off when his unique blend of rap, jersey and drill quickly began catching the attention of major names. He’s been on tour with East London’s esteemed Unknown T, and in 2021 was brought out by one of Afrobeats’ most influential artists, Davido, during his gig at the 02 Brixton in 2021.
With much to be proud of, Tarm’s latest release is about acknowledging achievement and the graft which led him to success. ‘Mazzine’’s melody is smooth and stripped back, enabling Tarm’s punchy vocals to take centre stage. Poignant moments in the story are brought to attention and energised by a deep, powerful bass.
The song’s ending refrain leaves listeners optimistic for the emerging artist’s future, Tarm candidly shares, “Now my diamonds shine bright cuz I’m earning…Still learning”. Self-assured and evidently talented, Tarm is on an upward trajectory and fans can expect more projects, collaborations and performances to be delivered soon.
