Independent singer, songwriter and musician Kasiika encourages us to focus on our goals in new single, ‘MIA’.
“Combining pop, R&B, soul and dance to create my own personal sound,” Kasiika muses on Instagram. While many artists endeavour to fuse disparate musical genres together to craft a distinctive sound, few approach it with as much dedication as singer-songwriter Kasiika. Her latest offering, ‘MIA’ interweaves UK garage with dance, pop and R&B nuances, creating a fresh contemporary sound that many artists spend years attempting to perfect.
Bursting onto the scene in 2018 with her debut ‘Better Now’, Kasiika has steadily risen through the ranks since. Garnering noted support from BBC Radio Asian Network DJ’s Ashanti Okmar and Harpz Kaur, Kasiika was accoladed with being named BBC Introducing Artist of the Week.
With her latest offering ‘MIA’, the artist provides a glimpse of her upcoming EP ‘Missing in Action’. Serving as the EP’s lead single, ‘MIA’ is an empowering anthem enveloped in a contemporary lush soundscape. Bearing her emotions, infusing personal introspection into her inspiring lyrics, she motivates listeners to pursue their aspirations and to truly focus on their goals. Her vocals seamlessly intertwine rap verses performed by herself and esteemed rapper Premz, whose clever wordplay eloquently captures the essence of the track.
