Miaou has launched its first plus-size collection in collaboration with model Paloma Elsesser, stocking up to a 4XL.

US independent fashion brand Miaou has introduced its very first plus-size friendly collection, designed in collaboration with American model Paloma Elsesser. “It’s long been a goal at Miaou to be able to offer extended sizes, and with this collection, we are so thrilled to finally be taking our first step towards that, launching up to a size 4XL,” the brand explains.

The collection features a range of Miaou’s signature corset tops in a selection of graphic prints, as well as playful co-ord sets, 90s-inspired mini dresses, and bikinis. Each pattern used in the capsule is said to be driven by Paloma’s love for collegiate colours and Miaou’s famous painterly textile designs.

First launching in 2016, the brand quickly developed cult-status due to its association with New York City and Los Angeles it-girls. Adored by celebrities including Dua Lipa and Julia Fox, and recently featuring in the wardrobe of Maddy in Season 2 of Euphoria, consumers swiftly developed an appetite for the label to stock a wider size range.

The plus-size fashion industry has long been criticised for its lack of trendy and accessible pieces, which Miaou is now aiming to change. “We’re hoping that we challenge the market and we challenge brands like us,” said the brand’s founder Alexia Elkaim. “Making clothes that are cute for bigger sizes feels like a no brainer and we’re excited that we’re able to do it.”

In addition to the exclusive capsule collection, Miaou have said that they will continue to expand their size range by gradually launching extended sizing in the majority of their core pieces. You can shop the new collection online or in person at Selfridges, where the brand will have its first permanent space in a physical store.
