UK-based artist Lois Rae returns with sensual new cut “MIND” featuring WYNTS.
Growing up a keen and gifted musician, Lois soon took to writing her own pop songs, inspired by musical greats such as Aaliyah, Sade and the 90s hip hop and R&B scene. Training as a classical pianist and guitarist, Lois has since developed a fresh, yet nostalgic sound that combines booming 808s, fluid orchestral arrangements and trap-influenced drums with honeyed, diverse vocals.
Continuing her fusion of contemporary production with a 90s inspired, R&B flair, Lois has followed up first pop offerings, “BADDIE” and “THAT’S ME”, with the sensual new cut “MIND”. Teaming up with East London rapper WYNTS, “MIND” is full of glossy synths and stuttering drum patterns. “Sometimes we just want that physical connection with a person, and that’s the thing that keeps drawing us back in. MIND is all about the feeling of desire, sometimes to the point of obsession”, Lois offers.
With more tracks soon to follow, Lois has garnered support from BBC 1XTRA, BBC Introducing and the BBC Asian Network for her polished soundscapes. Priding herself on creating diverse, contemporary pop music, “MIND” looks to be further indication of an artist on the rise.
