Fashion designer and publicist Rosanna Connolly launches a new brand, Morena, with debut item The Morena Logo Scarf.

Morena is an independent fashion brand, founded, and designed by Rosanna Connolly. With a passion to steer fashion in the direction of ethical sustainability, the artist has shared her first sample, the Morena Logo Scarf; a high-fashion and versatile debut. Inspired by her South African-Indian grandmother, Morena is a project Rosanna built-in support and acknowledgement of garment working industries, which are typically women of colour.

Speaking about this new business Rosanna says: “We’ve spent months designing and developing Morena’s first creation – it’s the perfect, versatile piece, wearable all year round. Our logo scarf emulates the soft power our brand is built on. It’s a statement about what we stand for and what we’re working towards; an industry that honours garment workers, and therefore Women of Colour”.

Some of Rosanna’s most promising factors for her brand are that the materials used are 100% rPET (recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) and are ethically made in the UK. Morena is an emerging fashion brand already catching the attention of many and is a great step forward to abolishing the need for fast fashion.

Here to prove that sustainable and ethical fashion does not equate to a lack of quality, each garment features a hand-finished rolled hem. With worldwide shipping and free UK deliveries, Rosanna is working towards expanding her brands’ horizons. In celebration of the Moreno Logo Scarf launched as the debut garment, the artist put on a live event. Check out some of the images from the night below.
