Upcoming Afropop sensation DKIZZ releases high-energy music video for Amapiano-infused single, “My Lady”, out now.

Tongue-in-cheek til the last, DKIZZ’s new video sees the star play dress-up in cowboy hats and glittery blazers while his melodic vocals flow free. He’s surrounded by beautiful women as the behind-the-scenes style film switches between park scenes and high-def close-ups. It comes after teasing the video on TikTok. As DKIZZ explains, “I wanted to write a soulful song that could be also played in the club. I’m just so happy that people are dancing to the song all over TikTok, even though it was inspired by one of my worst relationship experiences.”

It’s the second release of the Birmingham-based artist, after a successful debut with single “Show Me”. This eclectic offering serves as the main track for his forthcoming debut EP Sabi Boy, which is set to drop this summer via Be83 Music. He’s following in the footsteps of artists including Burna Boy and Mr Eazi, who share DKIZZ’s Port Harcourt hailing. Like these legendary names who’ve brought Afrobeats across the globe, he’s striving to make waves with his expressive lyricism and crafty musicianship.

Speaking on the inspiration behind ‘My Lady’, Dkizz says, “I wrote ‘My Lady’ last summer, after I had just come out of a ‘situationship’ with someone that was pretending to be the best person I could have ever met. It was a hell of a ride, and we didn’t quite work out, but it showed me what I really want in a relationship, and that’s what birthed ‘My Lady’.”
