Japanese visual artist Yayoi Kusama is bringing her vibrant installation ‘You, Me and the Balloons’ to the UK for Manchester’s International Festival.

There are lots of exciting events to gear up for this summer, including Manchester’s International Festival which is held at Factory International. Taking place on Thursday 29th June, the event will continue until Sunday 16th July and is launching a brand-new installation ‘You, Me and the Balloons’, curated by contemporary artist and fashion icon Yayoi Kusama.

Lauded for the innovative vibrancy of her work, Yayoi is crowned as one of art’s purest examples of true authenticity. Her latest installation ‘You, Me and the Balloons’ was crafted especially for Factory International’s brand-new venue and features a collection of kaleidoscopic sculptures and artwork that perfectly reflect the artist’s acute eye for detail.

Set to be shared as the first work in Factory’s new building, this summer Yayoi is about to make history, as this installation is produced as the artist’s largest-ever immersive environment project. The festival also features a line-up of idiosyncratic work from a variety of talented creatives, sculptors and illustrators, such as Ryan Gander, Tino Sehgal and Jenn Nkiru.
