Three-piece cinematic electronic band, Modeling, are bursting into 2021 with their new synth-pop single.

Coming from a prog-rock background, Modeling is comprised of brothers Connor, Ryan and Cuinn Brogan. Starting music at a young age, the siblings were able to hone their craft after some time, releasing their own music as PMtoday and signing to a reputable record label.

It wasn’t long until they were stuck in a contract that left them feeling stuck musically with no creative freedom. The young collective disbanded the next year and after a few years of collecting their thoughts and diving into the world of jazz, electronic and contemporary classical music, Modeling was born and along with that was their new sound.

Heavily influenced by film in their creative process, each idea goes through the process of being played over muted movie scenes on YouTube to see if it works. “It’s important that each piece of music we write has its own world for the listener to escape to.”

Expertly combining their empowered attitude, bold lyricism, and bright, catchy sound, the trio now return with ‘Nothing Unexpected’. Speaking on the hopelessness of the lyrics, Modeling explained: “I really struggled with this idea that everything good I was ever going to feel had already been felt and everything moving forward would just be a lesser version of what came before. And so that’s where the title stems from, this thought that nothing would ever compare or feel quite the same, there would be nothing new that I hadn’t already experienced, no surprises, nothing unexpected.”

With a self-written and self-produced six track EP, inspired by a retro futuristic, dystopian world, in the works, Modeling are sure to be one’s to watch this year.
