With a live music-shaped hole in our hearts over the past few months, we knew something needed to be done to bring it back. Thanks to a partnership with Amazon Music and Metropolis Studios, Irish singer-songwriter and ‘professional sad boy’ JC Stewart performed an exclusive live set, streamed to a lucky set of fans.

Taking place on 8th October at London’s iconic Metropolis Studios – a historic recording space where Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Stormzy and now JC Stewart had all made music – Notion sat down for a candid chat with JC Stewart.

Discussing everything from his whirlwind year (JC’s Coronavirus-themed twist on the Friends theme tune went viral when Jennifer Aniston herself shared it) to his creative process, JC spilled the tea.

Known for his sarcastic, endearing personality as well as his knack for creating heartbreaking ballads, JC’s open and chatty vibe made everyone feel welcomed to the Metropolis Studios and his undeniable charisma got everyone anticipating the live performance.

Taking to the stage, JC then treated Notion, Amazon Music and his streaming fans to a handful of emotional and powerful performances.

Playing acoustic renditions of recent hits “I Need You To Hate Me” and “Lying That You Love Me”, JC also captivated the audience with one of his earlier songs, “Bones”, as well as an upcoming single – soon to be released.

Switching between the guitar and keyboard, the studio was lit with a warm and welcoming glow, the perfect setting for an autumnal performance.

JC Stewart has toured with Lewis Capaldi, Anne Marie and Lauv. He also co-wrote on Lewis’ multi-platinum debut album with the song “Hollywood”. As well as his aforementioned hits, JC’s collab with producer 220 KID “Too Many Nights” continues to climb the charts. It seems that anything he touches is turning to gold at the moment.

Garnering support from the likes of Amazon Music and renowned studios like Metropolis with his immense talent, there’s no doubt that JC Stewart is here to stay.
