Missed our live-streamed performance from MYSIE? See exclusive BTS imagery and get the lowdown from the event - in partnership with Metropolis Studios and Amazon Music.
Remember live music? Belting out lyrics at the top of your lungs, jumping around with your mates, jostling through the crowd, pints in your hands? It may seem like a distant memory, but thanks to a partnership with Amazon Music and Metropolis Studios, Notion is bringing it back – albeit from a distance.
On Tuesday 23rd February at London’s historic Metropolis Studios, south London singer-songwriter, MYSIE, performed an exclusive live set, streamed to fans.
The iconic recording space has previously played host to Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Stormzy, and now MYSIE too.
Ahead of the performance, presenter and radio host, Jess Iszatt, caught up with MYSIE on behalf of Notion to chat about her upcoming EP, ‘Undertones’, the past year and what’s next.
Taking to the stage, MYSIE treated Notion, Amazon Music, and her streaming fans to a goosebump-inducing performance.
Singing with just her pianist for accompaniment, MYSIE blew everyone away with renditions of her debut single “Rocking Chair” and 2020’s “Bones”, as well as covering Empire of the Sun’s “We Are The People”. Fans were treated to a taste of MYSIE’s upcoming ‘Undertones’ EP when she sang the beautiful new track “In My Mind”.
MYSIE is the Ivor Novello Rising Star award winner who first began her journey under her real name of Lizbet Sempa, a singer-songwriter and pianist. However, she often found herself pigeonholed so decided on a re-invention as MYSIE. Now free in her creative expression, it wasn’t long before her otherworldly voice started attracting attention. Making a bang with debut single “Rocking Chair” in 2019, MYSIE shared a stream of singles, her ‘Chapter 11’ EP, and then last year, a trio of songs – “Gift”, “Bones” and “Patterns”. Now, she’s gearing up to share her sophomore EP, ‘Undertones’.
Get ready world, MYSIE is here.
