PUMA and JD launch a virtual stage event with music game-changers, Ghetts and Shaybo, taking place on Instagram.

To celebrate the relaunch of the iconic PUMA Suede, PUMA and JD are introducing the ‘Suede Stage’, a virtual event that pays homage to the shoes’ long-standing history of connecting music and culture.

Hosting the event will be none other than No Signal Radio – leading game-changers of quarantine radio who started as a platform that live streamed parties in lockdown. With DJ presenters Henrie and Scully, the ‘Suede Stage’ will drop on JD’s Instagram Live (@jdofficial) at 7pm on 12th February. For those on the go, fans will also be able to listen in to the 30-minute exclusive show via No Signal’s independent radio station.

The ‘Suede Stage’ will see iconic British grime MC, rapper and songwriter Ghetts with support from hard-hitting female rapper Shaybo. Bringing some much-needed entertainment to the audience, the event will bring fans the ultimate gig experience right from the comfort of their own homes.

This inspirational campaign is motivated by the inextricable links that the Suede shoe has to music. A fashion innovation of its time, first created in 1968, it has been the shoe at the epicentre of new cultural moments; from hip-hop’s emergence, breakdancing and B-Boy culture, to pivotal sporting moments such as Tommie Smith’s record breaking 1968 Olympic game and adorned by New York Knicks basketball player Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier.

Ruth How, PUMA Head of Marketing UKI, said: “Connecting both music and culture has always been at the heart of PUMA Suede and it is important we can give a platform to the game-changers in music, and inspire new generations. We are so pleased to partner with JD to bring the Suede Stage to life, bringing fun and entertainment into the homes of many this February, whilst re-establishing our iconic cult classic Suede Shoe.”
