Mineo unleashes his newest single on Black Butter, the Miraa May featuring Bout To Get High.

Former Audio Bully and UK rave pioneer Mineo has been making something of a comeback recently. At the tail end of last year we caught up with him after his single ‘Original’ blew up, and now, seven months later he’s following it up with another, equally triumphant track, ‘Bout To Get High’. Featuring rising singer Miraa May, who Mineo described as “the best voice in London” when we met him last year, it’s a track that blends old and new expertly. Equal parts garage and house, pads and synths blaze with plenty of hyperactive samples bouncing off the bassline, May’s voice serenely coasting over the top.

The video, which we’re premiering today on Notion, takes place in the secluded alleyways of Marrakech, following protagonist Meriam as she makes her way through the maze of the city to the most decadent multi-generational party since the royal wedding afters. Co-directed by Moroccan creative Amine Bendriouich and photographer Netti Hurley it’s an intense video and shot in twenty-four hours by Joel Honeywell, the video follows the party and its attendees from day to night and back again. Watch the video for ‘Bout To Get High’ below.
