Philadelphia duo, Rubber, share their latest psychedelic offering “Reason That You Came Here” featuring Nic Hanson.

Formed during their time studying together at Temple University, funky duo Rubber – singer Andrew Loper and multi-instrumentalist and producer John Della Franco – has gone from strength to strength since the release of their debut single in 2019. With a 10-date East-Coast Tour and two successful EPs under their belt, Rubber are sure to go far.

Looking for inspiration from artists such as Frank Ocean, Thundercat and Amy Winehouse, the duo aims to capture their audiences’ emotion through the irresistible melodies of their music. Rubber’s latest offering “Reason That You Came Here” is destined to do just that.

Warped synths and electro-pop rhythms layer sumptuously with vocals from both Nic Hanson (fellow Philadelphian) and Loper. Peppered percussion builds up to a killer chorus that shimmers with falsetto harmonies somewhat reminiscent of Anderson.Paak. Rubber creates a psychedelic soundscape that strikes gold.

‘“Reason That You Came Here”’ Rubber explains, ‘is all about confidence and not giving a flying fuck. It’s about anticipating that feeling of being in a room and having all eyes on you, being the center of attention and owning it. Being cooped up this year has been an intense and tiring experience.’ With their first hometown show booked for the 10th of June, and more shows likely to follow, Rubber is sure to deliver on their promise of many a night of ‘connective, energetic, eclectic music’ to shatter the lockdown blues.
